This is a good choice for a collar and lead.  These are the Coastal brand.
The collar is only 3/8 of an inch wide and adjustable from 8 to 12 inches--great for a puppy.
The collar has a quick release snap feature.  The lead matches the collar.

I purchased these at Pet Supplies Plus but they are probably available in most pet stores.

This is what a show lead looks like.  It has a loop for your hand at one end
and an adjustable loop with slide at the other end.  This is good for quick walks
or recall training, or tethering to your belt/pants when housebreaking.
